Environmental studies or EVS deals with the study of our surroundings, their significance and their interaction with surrounding. So EVS can be taught in integration of other subjects.We are covering class 1 EVS syllabus under Nine themes.These themes are integrated with each other as well as integrated with other subjects.
This theme deals with the introduction of students with their family and relationships.
TLO: To explain the relationships of self with other members of the family and depicts through drawings and written language.
Children are encouraged to learn the following
a) Their name and its spelling and how to write it.
b) Names of their parents.
c) Their Address in short.
d) Their School’s name.
e) Their Class and section.
f) Name of their class teacher.
TLO – To appreciate and reflect on her observations, work done by self and others.
Children are encouraged to learn the following
a) Name of different occupations
b) Know the occupations of their parents
TLO – To respect for other people and values against discrimination based on religion.
Children are encouraged to learn the following
a) Name of place of worship
b) Know the place of worship in their neighborhood.
TLO- To observe and explore environmental objects animals in the immediate surroundings.
Children are encouraged to learn the following-
a) Name of different animals.
b) Classify animals as Pet Animals, Domestic Animals and Wild Animals.
TLO- To observe and explore plants in immediate environment.
Children are encouraged to learn the following-
a) Name of different Plants.
b) Different parts of Plants.
